Onze systemen en ideeën zijn verouderd. Verdienmodellen, bedrijfsstructuren, managementinstrumenten: er is veel ontspoord. We hebben dan ook niet te maken met een economische crisis, maar met een ‘systemencrisis’, zo stelt Guido Thys. En wanneer er veel verandert, komen er steeds meer keuzes. Vooral worden wij voortdurend geconfronteerd met de vraag of wij op dezelfde voet verder moeten gaan. Als het aan Thys ligt zeker niet. We moeten het anders aanpakken, op alle fronten. Nieuwe tijden vragen om een nieuwe werkelijkheid, zijn de kreten die je steeds vaker hoort. Maar hoe doe je dit dan? Die nieuwe werkelijkheid zullen we volgens Thys zelf moeten creëren. We moeten kiezen om geheel andere dingen te gaan doen. Of om dezelfde dingen te doen, alleen dan moeten we het op een heel andere manier aanpakken. En daar weet Thys alles van, als dwarsdenker tovert hij alternatieve paden tevoorschijn daar waar anderen gevangen zitten in vastgeroeste gewoontes.
Maar gelukkig hoeft niet alles om. De juiste keuzes maken, daar draait het volgens Thys om. Op zijn bijzonder humorvolle wijze geeft hij tijdens het congres praktische handreikingen om deze keuzes te maken. Om knelpunten te ontdekken, juist te formuleren en om te ontdekken uit welke hoek de oplossing moet komen. Maar zijn ‘Belgische’ aanpak van eenvoudige en met humor doorspekte redeneringen, een wetenschappelijke basis en een ongeëvenaarde kennis van ondernemerschap is niet alleen vermakelijk, het zet je ook aan het denken.
